Chocolate Pots de Crème with Vegan Option!

If you are looking for a zero-fuss dessert for a dinner party, look no further. You can whip this up in the morning or the night before. That gives you one less thing to think about while you are entertaining your guests. If you can boil water, you can make this. You don’t even need a bowl and spoon. All the magic happens in the blender. Bonus! I recently figured out how to make this vegan using aquafaba. So, now my vegan friends can get in on the action.

How to Make Pineapple Flowers

If you are looking for a beautiful and natural way to decorate a cake, you should watch this video tutorial on how to make pineapple flowers. It’s really easy but you want to make sure you make them the day before you need them because they have to dry out. I leave them on the counter overnight, uncovered and they end up looking great. I used mine to decorate my popular raw vegan carrot cake. I love the natural and organic look. They also make a fantastic snack, but I warn you they go fast. You might want to make a double batch, especially if you have to share. Don’t they look amazing? I love the way the texture in the centre looks so realistic! Can You Hear the Crickets?

Geez, it sure has been quiet around here. This is my first post in 3 weeks and it isn’t even a recipe. I haven’t posted a recipe in well over a month. I’m sorry! I promise that I have something in the oven. Literally, there is something baking as I type this and my house smells amazing. If it all goes well, that recipe will be up on my blog later this week. In the meantime, may I suggest you make this watermelon mint frosty to keep cool on these hot summer days? If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you know I’ve posted income and traffic reports for the last 9 months. It has been a really good exercise for me. It helped keep me going and growing for months. Now, I’m happy to report that I have a decent supplemental income coming in from my blog and blog related activities (freelance work, advertising, affiliate income). I did some quick math to determine my earnings in May and it was approximately $560. Not …

Cinnamon Truffle

Gabor Chocolate – Winter 2014

I wish you could taste these truffles. I took these beauty shots at the Gabor Chocolate Winter Collection launch party.   I don’t have any recipes for you, but if you imagine really hard you might be able to taste the flavours. There were five inventive combinations. My favourite was the vanilla custard with lemon verbena. The lemon verbena was grown in Gabor’s own garden.

Raw Vegan Cheesecake with Raspberries

You see that kitty cat in the photo above? It’s actually a pencil sharpener. Can you guess where the pencil goes? I’ll give you a hint, it’s tail is raised for a reason. It meows as you sharpen your pencil. What does that have to do with Raw Vegan Raspberry Cheesecake? Absolutely nothing! I just thought I’d share. Now, on to the recipe…

Zen Break

Last week, I spent a glorious day picking raspberries in a sun and flower-filled garden. Well, I took pictures while my boyfriend and his parents picked the berries. Below are my favourite shots from the day. No recipe in this post, just a few moments of Zen.
