Easy Strawberry Syrup

It is surprisingly simple to make strawberry syrup. How is that for a tongue twister?

This simple strawberry syrup can be poured over ice cream, added to oatmeal, drizzled over pancakes or stirred into milk as an alternative to Strawberry Quik.

Check out this tutorial video to see just how easy it is.

Easy Strawberry Syrup

  • Author: Jasmine Lukuku

Ingredients

2 cups frozen strawberries, defrosted

3/4 cup white sugar

2 cups water

Instructions

Combine the strawberries, sugar and water in a large pot.

Bring to a boil on medium/high heat, reducing the heat slightly if the pot threatens to boil over.

Boil for 10 minutes.

Turn off the heat and strain the mixture over a large bowl.

Let the syrup cool before transferring to a jar or bottle.

Notes

Store the syrup in the fridge for up to 1 week.

You can use the leftover strawberry pulp in a smoothie if you want to reduce food waste. 🙂
