Fennel and Cantaloupe Green Juice

I can’t say the word “cantaloupe” without getting this song stuck in my head. Now you probably have it stuck in your head, sorry.

I had a really fun week making and eating birthday cake and I’m all caked out. The cake was wonderful, if I do say so myself. It was 4 layers of lemon cake with lemon curd and earl grey frosting. If you follow me on instagram, you may have seen it!

Isn’t it cute? Well, would you believe I had a major frosting disaster after that photo was taken? It’s a long story, but I basically had to scrape off all that icing and start again. Ugh.

After all that cake-fussing, I’m really in the mood for simple food. This juice really fits the bill. If you’ve never made green juice in the blender, it’s really easy. Just blend it up like you would do for a green smoothie and then strain it through a nut-milk bag. If that is too much effort, you can just drink this like a green-smoothie. It’s just as good, but more fibrous. Nothing wrong with a little fibre!

Fennel and Cantaloupe Juice

  • 2 cups cantaloupe
  • 1/4-1/2 fennel bulb
  • 1 cup cucumber (about 5 inches)
  • 1 large apple
  • 1 whole lemon, peeled
  • 2 leaves of kale
  • water

  1. Put all the fruits and vegetables in the blender.
  2. Fill the blender up about 1/2 way with water.
  3. Blend for 3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Strain with a nut-milk bag and serve.
