Whole-fruit Limeade with Cherry and Pineapple

Owning a Vitamix means you waste less food. I’m always finding odds and ends of fruits and veggies in the fridge to toss in to a drink or soup. It’s a great way to use less-than-perfect product. Take this Whole-Fruit Limeade as an example. I used some ugly cherries and some leftover pineapple to add character to a basic summer drink.

In my previous post, I posted a little instructional video on how to pit cherries. Make sure you take the pits out before you blend those bad boys up.

Limeade with Cherry and Pineapple

  • Prep Time: 3 minutes
  • Cook Time: 2 minutes
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 whole limes (peeled)
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple
  • 1 cup cherries (pitted)
  • 6 cups water
  • 1/4 cup sweetener, sugar or equivalent*

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients in the blender and mix on high speed for 2 minutes. Chill or serve over ice.

Notes

Whole limes can be a little bitter, so you may need to adjust sweetener to account for this. The sweetness of the cherries and pineapple will also change the outcome. Taste and adjust is my motto!
